The LDA has been certified as a trade union.
It is the first ever trade union of locum
hospital doctors.

| Locum doctors in hospital work have been
persistently denied their fair employment
rights and career progress. The hitherto only
medical trade union the BMA was found by an
employment tribunal to commit institutional
racism in a case brought by a locum hospital
doctor last year. Majority of hospital locums
in the UK are ethnic minority doctors. |

| Locums have long needed a trade union and
have now got it. |
