NCAA – AT LAST SOMETHING FOR LOCUMS

At last hospital locums long-denied their fair share of study leave, training, teaching, CPD, audit input and opportunities for providing feedback on locum posts and their quality will be able to do this through the NCAA.

The National Clinical Assessment Authority has been set up to support doctors and improve standards of care. Hospital locums will have to register with this body, which will provide study leave and CME budget for the unemployed and local doctors, appraisals for revalidation and clinical attachments where required.

THE NHS NEEDS LOCUM DOCTORS

LOCUM DOCTORS NEED THE NHS

Agency locums may be able to contribute to NHS Superannuation Scheme also we have been told.

LDA will be liaising with NCAA and the DOH on the details of this and how they can be best achieved. These are some of the demands in our Locum’s Charter, which was LDA’s first publication on October 1997.
